Jimmi Herbert is a captivating blend of indie and hip-hop music. With total creative control over every instrument on each track, his music is tailor-made to match up with his vast range of influences. After his debut headline show in Hertford he was described as a combination of Bowie, Beck and Prince; Jimmi himself would say he's more Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar and the 1975. Maybe that's just his modern perspective. He’s only 18, but when you listen to his words, he demonstrates real lyrical sophistication. His array of musical styles and ideas have resulted in a sound so diverse that he could be recommended to basically anybody who likes music. Syncopating groovy drum lines, a haunting, poetic vocal and a technically amazing guitar performance, Jimmi Herbert is truly enthralling.
Wandering Wires

A five-piece band from Oxford, Wandering Wires formed out of the University jazz scene and released their debut album, Departures, in October 2016. With grooves inspired by the likes of Jordan Rakei, Hiatus Kaiyote and Mark Guiliana, vocals reminiscent of Gretchen Parlato and the harmonic vocabulary of Robert Glasper and Kenny Wheeler, Wandering Wires are as diverse in what goes into their music as what comes out.
The band have since supported the The Comet Is Coming at Oxford’s O2 Academy, performed at Truck festival, headlined Oxford’s Offbeat festival, featured in BBC Introducing’s national show and put on several of their own sold-out shows around Oxford. The group’s second album, Homecoming, was released in March 2018 and is available on all major music platforms.
BEN HAYNES
Raised in a North Nottinghamshire town, this visually impaired albino kid spent most of his time playing the drums in his garage, though his focus shifted towards songwriting after hearing Ray Lamontagne’s debut Album, ‘Trouble’, which Ben describes as a deeply emotional musical experience.
Ben’s debut EP, ’Whisper In My Ear’, recorded and co-produced by another guy of the same name, features an inspiring track called ‘Do You Think I’m Able’ which Ben used to create his own Paralympic advert. The EP’s title track deals with the impact of loss and self-doubt, conveyed in an obvious Lamontagne-esque vibe.

The Fabulous Micky C is the best kept song-writing secret of his generation. He has written over 100 songs, 50 of which can be heard on his 3 albums to date – “Fallen From Grace”, “Rock n Roll Teeth” and the double album “Miracles and Shadows”.
Influenced by Dylan, Costello, Stax, Todd Rundgren, Little Richard, The Who, Ronnie Lane, Joni Mitchell, Howling Wolf and Irving Berlin amongst others, the song is the thing for TFMC.
