Blackstar Promotions are delighted to be bringing a fantastic lineup to The Fiddler's Elbow in Camden on Thursday 14th March, starring ROWSIE, Cult Figures, Holly Henderson and Cherry B. The venue is a mere 5 minute's walk from Chalk Farm tube.
ROWSIE
In the crucible of sound, where rebellion meets melody, ROWSIE emerges as a force to be reckoned with. Formed just two years ago, this audacious quartet, comprised of Richard Rothenberg (guitar & vocals), Holly Henderson (guitar & vocals), Alan D Boyd (bass & vocals), and Lauren Taylor (drums), has already left an indelible mark on the musical landscape. Their debut album, "I" (one) released under the Ivy RecRods banner, is a testament to their collective prowess, where great, noisy guitars reign supreme.
Cult Figures
The Concept: in 1977, buy a guitar, learn three chords, form a band, write some songs, play some gigs, release a legendary single, fall out, split up, 35 years later make friends again, re-form the band, play some gigs, record songs, make an album. Result: Long lost gems from the British DIY Punk era finally recorded and released on vinyl from Cult Figures own label CFC Recordings.
Holly Henderson
Holly plays guitar with ROWSIE but is an accomplished singer & songwriter with some amazing albums behind her. Here she brings us a stripped back, heartfelt but powerful set of some of her best loved tracks. Believe us when we say she is a musical phenomenon.
Cherry B
The irrepressible Cherry B will be performing a set of her much loved poetry which will doubtless inclue a few political rants, some sharp observations on life, the perils of being a punk mum and of course some of her trademark filth! Cherry will be popping up throughout the evening as tonight's compere.
This is the inaugural show from Blackstar at The Fiddler's Elbow so please, come along, show us some love and enjoy a night of fine entertainment.
