Come one, come all, come on everybody to the best Goddamn Poetry Jam you've ever seen or heard!
We are an open mic night welcoming any form of spoken word - from poetry to song, to stand-up comedy, to ranting about your neighbours and their smelly pets.
7pm - midnight - great live bands and great beer!!
The Filthy Groove are a dynamic quartet hailing from north London. Their distinctive orginal indie / Brit pop music is fused with classic rock with the powerful heart felt vocals and lyrics of front man John. This takes the audience through the Grooves own journey which ranges from fast paced rockers to slower melodic pieces.
The Gripes
Travelling all the way from the exotic lands of the Czech Republic, The Gripes are a punchy, chaotic rock band that doesn’t do subtle. Fast, loud, and messy, their shows are equal parts shouty punk, distorted rock, and funky grunge. If you like your bands raw, sweaty, and unapologetic, The Gripes are here to deliver.
Lucy Blu is back with a full band headline show in London this May!
I can't wait to get back out on the road and I'm kicking things off with a special hometown show at the venue where I played my very first live show all those years ago!

Jake Sandler + Guests
Jake Sandler is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from North West London, crafting intimate, guitar-driven tracks pop rock tracks. His music turns personal memories into atmospheric indie and alternative rock. With a DIY ethos and a growing live presence, Jake brings an honest sound to the indie music scene and can get the dance floor rocking. His bandmates Theo Marsh (bass and vocals), Andy Nicolaides (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Josh Sandler (Drums) each bring their own spin to Jake’s tracks due to their musicianship and distinct personality.

Formed in October 2023 in York, Upstarts are a four-piece indie/alternative rock band. Their name, taken from title of a 2013 Johnny Marr track, is a nod to one of the band’s key influences.
The lineup features Tom Foreman (vocals & rhythm guitar), James Littlefield (lead guitar), Mia Singh-Gelling (bass), and Tom Cashin (drums).
The Strand

We Are Not Devo – Here we are, surveying the cerebrally challenged apefest that is the 21st Century, and we have to conclude that the De-Evolution Band were bang on the money…We Are ALL Devo…yes, we have devolved just like Devo said was happening nigh on 50 years ago.
Last time Bugbear hosted this remarkable bunch of guys n gal, the actual Devo, genius mavericks of post punk futurist pop and satirical psych grind, were about to take to the stage of an unforgiving enormodome across town, on an itinerary that was intended to be the Devo Retirement tour. Well, that turned out to be of an Ol' Blue Eyes type of credibility, what with them about to take to the same enormodome in London soon alongside the similarly vintaged B52s. No rock lobsters tonight, it's pooty poot poot all the way with this brilliant band from Sheffield. We Are Not Devo. They do it so very well. All the classics, delivered in the same intense and exciting manner, not to mention flower pot hats and orange boiler suits. Not to be missed, so whip it good.
ULTRARABBIT - Some time Flesh Tetris front persons Andy Heintz and Eva Menon have joined forces with Paul K to create electronic dance music blending House, Funk, Disco and Rock whilst done up deliciously in sharp suits and rabbit ears. Did you know, if you say 'rabbit, rabbit, rabbit' first thing on awaking on the first of the month, good luck is assured all that month? Me neither.
53RD&3RD - ROMONES TRIBUTE
Celebrating their 30th anniversary this year (as are we at Bugbear as it happens) the original and very best Ramones tribute have been channeling all things Bruddas through good times and bad times, from Blitzkrieg Bop to Beat On the Brat, Rockaway Beach to RocknRoll Highschool. A superb interpretation of a remarkable back catalogue for sure, all leather jacketed, mop haired and sneaker adorned life is here. The integral importance of the Ramones to rocknroll should never be forgotten, and these guys have played a major role in keeping that flame alive. Yes, It's Alive. Go Mental.

The Palegrip crafts danceable post-punk that's spooky and cinematic. Spade Diamonds, it's a family affair. A project started in 2008 by 3 brothers and sisters. This led to numerous musical projects: the first musical contest win in 2009, the first EP in 2010, and a series of concerts throughout Paris, where they are from.
