THE SWELL
"Crawling out from under spaces you never knew existed, we have come together to drag you out of your grave."
With a multicultural explosion of chaos, post-industrial rage, and big-clit energy, The Swell have hit the London rock scene with a Mean Punch.
Formed in late 2018 the rag tag wretch of renegades is comprised of Gilan on angry vocals and angrier guitar, Mark teaching us what a groove is on Bass, Bartek “The hammy whammy” on the whammy bar guitar, and with his devilishly delicious drumming Steve – 5’11”, blue eyes.
While the band itself is in its infancy the experience of each member can be heard in their tight grooves, gritty chops, and raw feel. Drawing on influences such as NIN, QOTSA, Peaches,Mudhoney and the rest of the 90s, The Swell create a blend of punchy rhythms and slick melodies. Alternating between a post-industrial screaming mess and a slow, sticky dripping in your ears, The Swell will seduce you in and spit you right back out again. Fear not, there's plenty of spit to go around.

With each song being perfectly balanced between vocal and music aspects and the blurring of classical elements alongside traditional guitar, bass and drums works a treat. ...this album showcases a fully-fledged band that have produced a remarkable piece of work. Virology is a modern classic from start to end.’
