The New Born Idols

New Born Idols (NBI) are three hers with two hims as an authentic alt/rock/power pop quintet based in London, England with influences ranging from Beethoven to Metallica and from Pink Floyd to Rush.

This band combines their vast experience and musical influences to perform memorable, bold, punchy songs with angst ridden lyrics and anthemic choruses. Their unique sound is all neatly fused together.

Founding members Mica (guitars/backing vocals) and Marcus (bass/backing vocals) met Beki (lead vocals) at a gig in Kentish Town, London and started making music during the Covid-19 lockdown via BandMix. Soon after, Paula joined after answering an advert on BandMix to play the drums and soon afterwards Magda joned on keyboards/backing vocals..

With their own permanent rehearsal/recording studio near Camden, London, NBI are able to craft their songs at leisure, anytime 24/7. The band all contribute to the songwriting, collaboratively adding, subtracting and combining all the music, production and lyrics.

Currently the band are busy with many headline London gigs and are recording a forthcoming six track EP entitled ‘Welcome To Our Church’. Their debut twelve track album; ‘Beautiful Minds’ is planned for recording and release in late 2023.

Reviews

“The music by the New Born Idols is best described as a band who take inspiration from the wide canon of classic rock and alternative genres that have gone before them. Many of their songs contain an atmospheric intense mixture of sounds, swinging between raunchy hypnotic vocals, hard hitting guitars and thunderous staccato drums.”

“The songs so far penned by this new exciting band hailing from North London, England comprises a well paced dynamic alternative pop/rock set that delves into relationships, personal angst and the darker aspects of life, love and beyond.”

The story of FFRANK begins with Louise. Born and raised in FFrance (in

the town of Yvetot, Normandy, to be specific), Louise moved to England in

2018 to pursue her second favourite hobby, music. (Her first remains

procrastinating.)

Inspired by a love of the more eccentric figures of pop history — The

Beatles, Sparks, The Shaggs — she wrote, performed, and recorded a

collection of songs in a style her future band mate, Joseph, later

describes as “wonky”. The term will stick and become the defining ethos

for the band.

Oh, and about that band. In late 2021 Louise finds Joseph. Joseph finds

Mel. Mel finds Lucy. And in mid-2022 together they all find Ruby.

FFRANK is formed.

Magi Mojaxx Bio

Magi Mojaxx are a London based 5-piece band. They combine catchy hooks and hard-hitting lyrics to create powerful music often drawing from their own experiences.  The sound comes from Magnus’ adolescence of moving from his parent’s rock/ska collection to discovering hip hop and later down the line more experimental jazz/blues guitarists and their techniques. This is one of many reasons they fail to stick to a single genre, often blending genres regularly throughout the course of a single song.

Magi Mojaxx formed whilst studying at different Universities in Cardiff. Within a couple of months they started recording using the ‘Xpress Student Radio’ as a recording platform for acoustic covers of popular songs and since then have enjoyed writing their own music both individually and collaboratively, having featured several times on BBC Introducing.

Their first self titled album is due to be released in early 2023.
