Smoking Ocean is an English rock band formed in London. Our music mixes raging yet melodic guitars, pounding rhythms and drums.

TONI MURANYI AND HIS BAND

Toni Muranyi, born in Transylvania and with an eastern-European folk music background, has always played unconventional folk music from Hungary, Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria. He plays old-time Balkan melodies with electric guitar and rock drums, while still delivering the power of Balkan brass and violin. 

Toni always wanted to play violin, but he ended up picking up an electric guitar instead. “The long sustain of electric guitars reminds me of the sound of the violin. Toni says, "Whenever I play my guitar, I feel like I'm copying my violin player heroes from a little village in Transylvania". He adds, "I use the same technique and the same melodies."

Toni Muranyi made a name for himself as a hungarian singer-songwriter, then moved to London in 2013 and continues to play his Balkan-rock songs with his band - Jim Macallister on bass and Janos Muranyi (Toni's brother) on drums. 

This music is a treat for those who enjoy Balkan melodies, eccentric guitar solos, and killer grooves. Originals (in English) and authentic folk songs (in eastern-European languages) performed on electric guitar - in a way you've never heard before!

Calvaria are a four-piece melodic metal band from Milton Keynes, ageing from 18 to 20. We play our blend of metalcore / alternative metal with a hint of 80s hard rock and have an energetic set mainly consisting of original songs.
