Harsh Language

'Starting out life as the solo project of Sean Shreeve (Freeze The Atlantic, Spectrum 7), Harsh Language is an evolution of that first project, taking those initial cross-genre ideas that spanned hard rock and niche electronica and expanding on them both sonically and emotionally. ‘Distortions’ the debut EP from Harsh Language was released digitally during lockdown in 2020, a 7-track mission statement that introduced what the act was about and gave a glimpse of the love of music shared therein. After a year and a half spent in and out of lockdown, writing and playing shows wherever possible, the band evolved again further with Rob Green joining the band on bass in late 2021, and Alec Albury completing the line-up early 2022 on drums, to further fill out the sound and bring some new musical perspectives to the table.

The Harlem Racket

If this bio was a film trailer, it would start with the main character riding a mountain bike. Recklessly down a quiet suburban road.

A couple in a Volkswagen Hatchback would be maneuvering out of a parking space, unaware of the potential collision that lay ahead.

Our irresponsible cyclist would spot the approaching vehicle and bear left but unwittingly land head first into the side of an Audi TT, which was parked in someone's front garden.

He would survive. Saved only by a safety helmet.

It would be the kind of incident that forces you to reassess your life. Should you leave the band you're playing bass in and form your own one? Should you book some studio time and see if those songs you've been working on cut the mustard? I did. How do I know? I am that cyclist.

Shortly after those studio sessions, I enlisted two old friends and The Harlem Racket was formed. We're inspired by blues, rock, punk, soul and psychedelic artists.

Our debut single Karl Lagerfeld’s Vampire Club will be released in June.

Finches

Finches is an Artist project started by singer/songwriter Daniel Finch and Guitarist / Video director Oscar Simmons who grew up in Hertfordshire, UK. Finches form of insecure dreamy pop is recognised by 90s alt vocals, lo-fi production and good honest songwriting.

“We took a long time trying to perfect our sound, we were forcing it to be too individual and different, but since the pandemic we’ve resorted back to our roots and have been making music that we enjoy more than ever.’

Finches visual identity is as important to them as their sonic identity with references to Y2K womens fashion and 90’s films such as Gunmo and Trainspotting.

The Finches project sits in the void between Band and Artist duo. It’s certainly not a two person show, and is backed by a large team of creatives and musicians. There are a number of talented photographers, producers, songwriters and musicians working together to create a compelling creative story.
