So So Sun are a 5-piece atmospheric, indie-electronic band from South East England. The band is an outlet for them to create songs and ideas outside of the realms of acoustic music whilst retaining the elements they enjoyed – conceptual songwriting, heartfelt melodies and thoughtful, progressive structures. So So Sun’s sound has been compared to the likes of Bonobo, Bon Iver, James Blake, and Explosions in the Sky to name but a few. They bring along a host of different instruments, and often cycle through many of them in just one track, whilst looping and re-looping through live digital software. With picky guitars, floating horn lines, soaring synths, subtle samples and emotionally driven vocals, their vast and ever expanding influences are expressed through a powerful and unique experience. They’ve played with the likes of Submotion Orchestra, Krafty Cuts, Chali 2na and Natty and recently had their first hometown headliner at MK11. “These guys were fire! IN THE TRUNK is a recently formed band from London who blend garage rock and dreampop to deliver a unique kaleidoscope of sound. They have released their debut single ‘Glue’, an energetic rejection of confinements that is accompanied by a surreal yet addictive music video. Spawned out of the solo work of Archie Valentine, who had success with singles such as the hook filled ‘Lovedon’ and the ‘Man of the Dunes’ EP, the music the band now creates takes on darker and more developed tone. They are set to put out more singles and an extended play very soon.
