DiscoverNü Live presents another eclectic night of live music featuring some of the best emerging artists from in and around London.
Melodi Melodi is a singer/songwriter from Hertfordshire now living in South London. She received her name and musical interest from her father, Jerome, who was a singer/songwriter himself.Drawing on many different musical influences, Melodi is creating music that is both honest and current, yet still sparks feelings of nostalgia.Melodi had a great start to the year with her single "So Good" being picked up by Jamz Supernova on Radio 1xtra. Now, with her latest song "Body Language" and more releases in the pipeline she’s set for a promising year.AfroPunk: ''A remarkably soulful voice. Melodi makes music unique in its owns right''Howl & Echoes: ''A vocal tone is so lush with nods to artists like Mary J Blige and Jill Scott.''LAGIOIA LAGIOIA is a Soul/R&B artist from Zurich. Her voice is unmistakable, a powerful R&B alto that cuts like a hot knife. She plays piano and guitar and writes songs with electro influences and wisdom that reveal an old head on young shoulders. With her to the point lyricism and recurrent melodies, she wants to bring her listeners to her own zone of music. Growing up from Switzerland, she honed her craft spinning records by Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu and the sound of her parents listening to 70’s funk. Moving to London in 2018, she has built a following playing live shows across the capital.Maria MarieMaria Marie is an independent female pop artist from Cancún, México. Her music is influenced by Latin pop, Reggaetón, and EDM, which contributes to the element of surprise in her lyrics: the mix of English and Spanish in harmony (Spanglish). At only 21 years of age, Maria Marie has already lived in México, USA, Switzerland, Spain, and currently, London in the UK, which she claims to have shaped her both personally and professionally. Her music has been compared to the likes of Dua Lipa, Sia, and Sofia Reyes , all female artists Maria looks up to, and is humbled by the comparison. The Mexican artist has recently released her first single “Bad Boys”, in which she paints the picture of what it’s like to be attracted to the wrong person, and the internal battle she went through while dealing with her contradicting feelings. LaéliaPowerful and mysterious. Dark and fun. Melancholic and mischievous. Combinations that usually aren’t meant to be perfectly describe Laélia. Born next to the sea, but grown out of the ground, this creature moves fluid like water but vocalises strong as land. An incredible sight of colour, anger and sensuality. She beams synths from the 80s and 90s. Casts hints of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani. But there are undefinable sounds that she sings that sound like tomorrow. + introducing newcomer, neo-soul singer-songwriter Thandie.Hosted by Alichè — Tickets — £4 online / £8 OTD18+
