Barking Poets are an alternative punk rock band formed in Camden, London in 2020.
After recording at Unit 13 Studios in South London with producer Paul Tipler (Idlewild,
Placebo, Reuben), the band released their debut 6 track e.p. in 2021 via Engineer
Records. "Back to Abnormal" was met with critical acclaim and the band embarked on a
mini tour of the U.K. opening for such bands as Pet Needs, The Meffs and Los Fastidios
aswell as playing the HRH Festival at the o2 Academy, Sheffield. Barking Poets also
played a sold out hometown show at the famous "Hope and Anchor" in Islington. 2022 saw
lead guitarist Neil Murray seamlessly move into the frontman role after the departure
of Harvey Springfield. Barking Poets released 2 brand new singles with accompanying
videos with "We Will Overcome" being premiered on Vive le Rock magazine.net and
featured on a covermount c.d. on Devolution magazine. The band camped down to
Portsmouth to record their 2nd e.p. with producer Tim Greaves at Southsea Sounds
studios. "Southsea Sounds" was released in 2023 again via Engineer Records. The band
finished off 2023 with a successful packed December show at The Dublin Castle in
Camden, London
